I have a crush on a woman I work with. I told a friend of hers about my feelings, and I think she in turn told the woman I'm interested in. The problem is I've never mentioned anything to her. I always treated her like a colleague but did special things for her, without her asking for them.

Lately she mentioned to me that she broke up with her boyfriend and she asked if I have a girlfriend.

What do you think? Does it sound like I have a chance?

First of all, good for you for speaking the truth. You told her friend, your love interest found out, and she absolutely sent a green light signal your way. Watch her body language around you. Does she get a bit shy and look away? Does she make sure she is near you at work? Does she smile frequently whenever you're around?

Why not go for it and ask her to lunch? If you need a safety blanket, ask her friend to come along and then watch for the signs. You'll know soon enough.

If it doesn't work out with her, the practice alone will be great experience. Keep risking!
