How can I get out of my Funk?
Dear Renee,
I’m in a funk about dating. I keep trying to meet men that are going to commit, but I seem to get guys that run out after 3-4 dates I am 32 and I want to begin a relationship. Now I am just down and can’t seem to get motivated after feeling hurt and rejected. I listen to your love mechanics pod cast and it inspired me to write you for some advice. So, how can I get out of my funk? I need a tune-up!
Dear Funky,
Well my friend, after hearing this story from many single women in my many years in the biz, I always say “Lets take a good look under the hood.” What that means is that you won’t manifest a new or different experience until you feel deserving of having what you really want. Often when a person (male or female) gets hurt or rejected, it begins to eat away at your self-esteem and you doubt yourself.
Once a pattern of negative thoughts start to overtake you will experience your dominant thoughts in your life until you become aware and shift them in their tracks. Lets say for example, now that you’ve met 3 men in a row who don’t want to commit to you, you will think “Men don’t ever commit.” Perhaps when you’re out on a date with a nice man he may ask you “why you’re still single” and you reply, “Well if the men in the world would commit or men are afraid of commitment it is hard to find a good man,” it may make him run for the hills.
Examine your dominant thoughts and ask yourself –
1. “Am I what I am asking for?”,
2. “Have I become the person I want to attract? “
3. “Are the words, actions and beliefs that I project aligned with my results?”
In your case it is obvious your funk is assisting you to repeat your patterns. You must get in charge and see your life is your own creation. Once you see it is about you committing to yourself that you deserve to have a wonderful relationship with a man that wants what you want.
Focus only on what you want and now what you don’t want and it will show up.
I host classes online called “Secrets in the Mind of Men” and it would be a great wake up call for you to come experience how men can sense the funk and neediness and desperation.
You must relax, get into your power and if no one has ever guided you to do that call for a private session so I can asses you to become a woman that attracts men like a magnet!
