I need help with some creative dating ideas. I'm dating a special woman and we go out a lot, and it seems that I've run out of date ideas. Her birthday is coming up and I want to do something extra special for her. I'm not cheap, but I'd like some ideas that won't break the bank yet are romantic.

Dear Dating Challenged,

Women love creative dates and, above all, a man with a plan. Now, here are some of my inexpensive dating ideas:

  Free concerts -- check your local paper
  Day trips to little towns nearby
  Food festivals -- check your local listings
  Art exhibits -- call all your local galleries
  Go to a "happy hour" and share appetizers and drinks
  Take romantic walks on the beach/at the lake/in the woods
  Have a picnic
  Exercise together -- get passes to try yoga, boxing, and aerobics
  Go to a sex shop -- invest in a toy or a game to play together
  Rent a movie, make dinner and invite her over
  Take a trip to the local planetarium
  Shoot some pool together, or teach her how to play
  Take her to fairs and carnivals in your local community
For special occasions:
Rent a limo
Call a local limousine company and go for a sunset cruise while you sip champagne and listen to romantic music.
Visit a day spa
Find out if your local hot springs has massage and dinner specials. Bring along some champagne and glasses.
Rent a boat
Head to a lake nearby and enjoy a cruise along the water in the evening.
Switch locales
Have dinner at one restaurant, dessert at another, and then switch again. To close, head to a romantic club and dance the night away.
Enjoy the theater
Although prices may run a little high, a night at the theater will definitely turn her on and give her a reason to look her best for you.
Be creative and use the element of surprise. Most women enjoy surprises that take some planning and thoughtfulness.
